D&D Therapy Groups

Unlock Personal Growth Through Adventure!

What is a Therapeutic D&D  Therapy Group?

Our program combines the creativity of Dungeons & Dragons with evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Guided by licensed mental health professionals experienced in both therapy and role-playing, our sessions are designed to help you gain insights into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. The game becomes a metaphor for your personal journey, offering you the chance to face challenges, make impactful decisions, and discover new strengths.

Our Mission: To create a cohesive, supportive, and validating environment where you can safely explore your inner world and build resilience, all while having fun and engaging in collaborative storytelling.

What You’ll Learn

In our D&D Therapy Group, you'll learn and practice a range of valuable skills that extend beyond the game:

  • Mindfulness & Presence: During gameplay, cultivated mindfulness and presence enhances your ability to observe both your character’s actions and your own reactions without judgment

  • Cognitive Restructuring: Learn to identify and challenge negative thought patterns. Our in-game scenarios provide a dynamic context for practicing healthier ways of thinking.

  • Anxiety & Stress Management: Gain practical tools for managing anxiety. Through guided activities and reflective discussions, you'll discover strategies that help you cope with stress in both the game and real life.

  • Interpersonal Communication: Enhance your social skills by engaging with fellow adventurers. Role-playing encourages empathy, active listening, and assertive communication.

  • Values Clarification: Use character creation and decision-making to uncover and define your personal values, helping you align your actions with what truly matters to you.

  • Emotional Resilience: Face challenges and setbacks in a controlled, supportive environment. Learn to accept, adapt, and bounce back—transforming obstacles into opportunities for growth.

  • Acceptance & Commitment Strategies (ACT): Engage with ACT-based interventions that help you observe thoughts and feelings without judgment, commit to actions aligned with your values, and cultivate psychological flexibility.
